Volunteers help clear local urban forest
Solvay Specialty Polymers employees from West Deptford, New Jersey rolled up their sleeves to work with two other groups of volunteers to collect and remove “an astonishing amount of litter” from the Cramer Hill Nature Preserve in Camden, New Jersey.
The South Jersey Land and Water Trust (SJLWT) organized the clean-up of nearly 10 blocks in the vicinity of the 35-acre urban forest, which sits on the border of Camden and Pennsauken.
The crews collected more than 12 bags of trash, five tires, more than 30 television sets, assorted furniture pieces, cardboard appliance boxes, car parts, household trash, and construction debris — just in a single day!
