Solvay volunteers comfort cancer patients with basic necessities
Volunteers from the Alumina Business Unit of Technology Solutions organized a successful charity collection drive to benefit the efforts of the Áster Institute in Belém in the State of Pará in Brazil.
The Áster Institute is a non-governmental, non-profit institution that works to secure better treatment conditions for low-income cancer patients, both adults and children. The organization was named after the Aster flower, which represents loyalty, fidelity, wisdom, good thoughts, power, and light.
The team collected a range of items from food, basic food baskets, and utensils to clothing and hygiene products for children.
